Summary
Berberine inhibits CYP2C19 and CYP3A4 in human studies; omeprazole is a CYP2C19 substrate. Combined use may alter omeprazole exposure. Long-term PPI use also associated with reduced B12, magnesium, iron, calcium, zinc absorption. Discuss with prescriber.
