Summary
Statins inhibit HMG-CoA reductase, also required for endogenous CoQ10 synthesis. Statin-induced CoQ10 depletion documented and may contribute to myalgia. Meta-analyses show CoQ10 supplementation reduces statin-associated muscle symptoms. FAERS: 2,233 reports. CoQ10 100-300mg daily commonly recommended alongside statins.
